Kanak Files: Pix Patisserie

Since I split my time between Hawaii and Oregon I get to eat the best of both worlds. During the rainy season I have been helping myself to 2nd and 3rd desserts. Good for the taste buds, bad for the opu. It’s rough. With places like Pix Patisserie offering tasty euro-style pastries like the St Honore you are pretty much dead in the water. Pictured above is the individual serving. Gnarly.

St. Honoré

“One could find this gâteau in 1840 in France. 171 years later you can find it in Portland. Puff pastry, caramelized cream puffs, Grand Marnier pastry cream and vanilla bean crème chantilly…Wee! Wee!”

Also recommend the Double Chocolate Stout Beer Float. It messes with your mind. Ideal for those who want a drink and a sweet treat at the same time. If you are ever in East Portland I highly recommend. And if you see a grown man that resembles me stuffing his face in the corner with tears of joy streaming down his chin don’t judge. Just saying.
